Welcome to Winter Wheat
I began this blog in December 2020 sharing observations on life and nature with occasional commentary on politics and culture. It was a modest and enjoyable endeavor and meant to remain that way.
All of that changed in the aftermath of 7 October 2023. Since that day my work has focused on essays and reports from and about Occupied Palestine. As a response to the genocide in Gaza, I took two trips to the West Bank in 2024 where I traveled and did research for a project called Palestinian Voices. This work is ongoing. You can read my essays as they are published, and in the archive, at Winter Wheat.
Reports and updates on Zionist crimes and ethnic cleansing in the West Bank are published on West Bank Alerts. My commentaries are also published on The Floutist, where I am co-editor with Patrick Lawrence.
