Cara, very well said, with an eloquent profundity in your important narrative which you nailed correctly!

On Joe Rogan, I suppose I missed out on many of his interviews which my cousin would forward via email. I thought he might have been another right-wing type, so I usually deleted them without watching the interview, so shame on me for "pre-judging" him.

And Paul Stamets too! I've heard Stamets many times over the years on kpfa.org during their listener-sponsored fund drives, and finally sent for his book, Fantastic Fungi, for Paul's encyclopedic knowledge and to help keep the radio station on the air.

What you said in the article is the sad and seriously dangerous course our government, along with the big corporate media, the Merchants of Death industries, plus the Wall Street crowd and the Big Bankers of the Federal Reserve , all of them in cahoots for their nefarious quest for more money and power, which is insatiable, and may lead to a nuclear war.

Your last paragraph touched me, as my late wife would say, and she may have quoted someone from the past, that "A non-curious life is not a life worth living." Too many folks have one-track minds and prefer not taking the time to read and research before accepting the official version of whatever, by the above-mentioned groups. Skillful propaganda can lead a nation to unintended consequences which they'll regret, but I often say: Once you pull the trigger, it's to late to stop the bullet.

It's much worse now, with all the social media outlets then it was during the McCarthy era, as the propagandists have had plenty of time in honing their skills. The Black Magicians of 20th century Amerika!

Hello, Frank. I fear you are right. It is much worse. Over the past couple of days journalists Glenn Greenwald and Michael Shellenberger have been reporting on new laws currently being introduced and passed in western countries, under the guise of combating misinformation and "hate" speech, that give those governments sweeping power to censor individuals. Democrat Mark Warner of Virginia has just introduced a bill that carries a 20 years prison sentence for anyone using a VPN to access a website that the government has black listed.

Here's a link to Shellenberger's twitter thread: https://twitter.com/shellenberger/status/1653764836520775682

Hello Cara, Thanks for the Schellenberger link. Grave violations of the First Amendment, isn't it? Also alarming is how more so-called democratic countries are passing similar laws, even in the progressive Scandinavian nations. It started with the "Un-Constitutional" Patriot Act that was supposedly hastily written after "9-11" and passed (hardly any Senators or Representatives read it) by almost every member of Congress, in violation of their "Oath of Office."

My dad, uncles, and everyone else's relatives, family members and friends who fought or died or were maimed in WW2 would, to use the cliche, "Turn in their graves" if they new then that the United States would become just as bad as those they fought abroad.

At this point, we are close to WW3, in the US led Capitalist class and the infamous "international bankers" fanatical zealousness for world conquest. We have let the "anti-Christ" (no religious affiliation) set the rules for their benefit. The Empire of Chaos will fail in the long run. Very scary!

I don't expect to agree with anyone all the time. I don't even agree with myself all the time.

So sorry for you Feral. Reminds me of a luncheon I had with a lady friend several months ago. During the conversation, she said,, Frank you and I have similar problems. We always think we're right, but at least I'm taking therapy sessions in hopes of breaking the habit." I said, good for you, as you do need them as you love contradicting me." Her reply: "That's true, but what about you?" I said rather calmly, that "Some people are seldom wrong" and she burst out in laughter and so did I and she pointed a finger at me and said"meaning you?" which I nodded in the affirmative.
