I have forwarded the following message to FaceBook: A friend recently visited a little school in the Occupied Territories of Palestine - IOF (Israeli Occupation Forces) and the armed and illegal "settlers - (mostly such "settlers" are from the US or out of north and eastern Europe, btw)" nearby have shot up the school's overhead water tanks and terrorised their village, killing adults and children and denying villagers access to their nearby olive orchards and other grain crops - destroying houses and burning cars. If you can contribute - even a small amount - please help... Jim K Very moving. And, by the way - absolutely correct re the children asking the questions they had been taught "How old are you?" I remember nearly 35 years ago on a teacher visit to Japan - a member of the "delegation" (a distant cousin of mine in fact) was asked the same question at a primary school. She almost had a heart attack - it seemed - and managed to stutter out an answer. But was still talking about it days later. In similar fashion I learnt to answer another question - "How many children do you have? (not Do you have any children?) by honestly explaining the situation - three - a girl and twin boys - prematurely still-born - but nieces and nephews and god-children and all my long ago students - their class now included - were in some senses, my children. The awkward question became a true positive for all the years I lived in Japan. Those children you met - how they warmed your heart CM - and the hearts of those reading this report. Thank-you... Jim K

Such a wonderful idea. I chastise myself for wondering how long before the soldiers destroy that playground, and shoot or bomb those children. What has happened to humanity! How do we find a way through the insanity that seems to have taken over.

Maybe one playground at a time. Count me in for a slide or a swing. At least let the children smile before they're killed. Thank you.

There must be an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. Pope Francis has said what is needed, now he must do what is needed by going to Gaza and standing for peace, justice and freedom.
